Geography and Climate
The Lakes region is one of the fifteen regions dividing Chile, delimited in the North by the XIV region of rivers, in the South by the XI region of Aisén, in the East with Argentina and in the West with the Pacific Ocean.
Chile’s area is 48.583,6 km² and counts 794.529 of inhabitants. The Lakes region, the capital of which is Puerto Montt, includes Chiloé, Osorno, Palena and Llanquihue provinces, where in the latest of them we established our office.
This region is located at between 40°13’ and 44°03’ South latitude, and at between 74°49’ and 71°34’ West longitude, from the Pacific Ocean to the Andes.
About the relief, there are two main categories, separated by Chacao canal. The North part is constituted by Osorno and Llanquihue provinces where an intermediate depression dominates between the two chains of mountains. On the contrary, in the South part, this depression dives into the Ocean, thus forming the well-known Chiloé archipelago.
In this region the climate is temperate, rainy, and temperatures are moderated, around an average of 10°C, and it rains the whole year.
