Long-nosed Caenolestid
Common Name: Long-nosed Caenolestid or Long-nosed Shrew Opossum Description Long-nosed Caenolestid is a species of marsupial which lives in Chile, mainly in old growth evergreen temperate forests The body of this animal is covered with soft and straight fur of uniform brownish-gray color. Its darkish tail differs from the other species of this family since it is shorter. The animal accumulates adipose tissue in the tail which it uses when the climatic conditions make it hard to find food. The Caenolestid’s diet is mainly based on living invertebrates.
