Description This South American rodent has a similar appearance to the beaver. It lives in lagoons and alongside stretches of water The Coypu is an average sized animal for its species, weighing up to 10 kilos. With its large and scaly tail and rough outer coat that covers a skin of high commercial value, this animal lives up to 4 years old in natural conditions. As a way to adapt to aquatic life, the nipples of the the female coypu are situated high on her dorso, allowing her to swin and feed her young at the same time.
